Chapka travel Insurance

Please note: this page concerns a product which is no longer marketed.

Cap Tempo Expat is a Multi-risk travel insurance contract which provides insurance and assistance benefits for the first year of your expatriation, in the event of a sudden and unexpected accident or serious illness.

3 major reasons to be covered

Cover for medical expenses abroad

When you leave the European economic area for a long period (more than 90 days), you no longer benefit from social security, your mutual insurance or your Governement Health Insurance Plan. It is therefore essential to have an insurance to cover your health costs in the event of accident or illness. Be aware that medical expenses abroad are very expensive and that a simple appendicitis can cost up to $20,000. A medical repatriation to your home country can also cost you a small fortune.

Keep in mind that this is not a comprehensive health insurance plan but a travel insurance policy. Only medical expenses related to accidents or unexpected illnesses are covered (we do not cover pre-existing illnesses, comfort medicine or preventive care - see exclusions).

24/7 repatriation assistance

Cap Tempo Expat includes a complete set of assistance benefits that allows you to cover for example: 100% of a medical repatriation cost to your country of origin. The assistance service also helps you to redo your papers in case of theft, burglary or even helps you to return to your home country if you’ve learned that a loved one has died.

Third Party Liability Abroad

Also note that your liability coverage abroad, usually included in the multi-risk home insurance policy, will no longer work as soon as you leave your home country for a long period (more than 3 months)

It is important to have adequate liability insurance to cover unintentional damage caused to others and not expose yourself (or your family left in Europe) to very large unwanted debts.

Other benefits included in Cap Tempo Expat: emergency dental expenses, luggage theft, death or disability benefit.
